March Break 2024 🏝️ We spent one week at this March Break 2024 🏝️ We spent one week at this beautiful beachfront resort in Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba. This remote location was two hours away from the airpoort and it was surrounded by nature. There was nothing else around so it forced us to relax. It was the first time I hardly took any pictures (and I love taking photos). I think Dave took most of them and therefore he’s in none. lol! I completely checked out of *all* things related to work, tpt, and Instagram. It was rejeunivating and I feel reinspired! Knowing Cuba’s history, we still learned so much and we gave back as much as could. I made gift bags, brought clothes to donate, and other items to give. Since it felt a little like spring outside today, Since it felt a little like spring outside today, it seemed like an appropriate time to share this simple parts of a plant craft! 😊🪴🌸 We used this at the end of our living things unit. Don’t teach science? 👉🏼Use this to keep your students busy and engaged while you complete reading assessments, mark, or get some report card work done. Have them colour the individual parts, cut, glue it together, and refer to the example of where to glue the words in the correct spot. The example shown is on ledger paper for a bigger size display but it will also work on legal or letter size paper! My students loved this and they were all very into it! Palm trees & Christmas trees 🌴🎄 It definite Palm trees & Christmas trees 🌴🎄 It definitely felt different celebrating Christmas away from home in a warm, sunny state. But, it was so nice to spend Christmas with Dave’s entire family! We’ve been to Cali many times before so we didn’t feel a need to get out and do all the touristy things. We mainly hung out with the fam, ate lots of food, and snuck out on a few dates. One was to old town Pasadena to try @urthcaffe (popular spot) and it did not disappoint! It rained only a few hours the entire week (on the last day when we took the overcast pics). Otherwise, it was blue skies and big sun with people gardening, cycling, and out for family walks on Christmas Day. It was so nice! French writing crafts for primary students 🙌🏼 If you know me, I’m all about simple! Teaching six year olds a craft of any kind, in a second language, that has 17 steps or directions is just not for me (or them)! I’m very particular with any type of multi step activity I do with my class 🤪. These crafts involve 4 easy steps! Write, colour, cut, and glue! They even come with a modified version for cutting because I think at some point all primary teachers have had a student cry when they can’t cut perfectly around certain pictures 😆. I know I have! So I tried to alleviate that! You will receive a variety of 12 seasonal and non seasonal writing crafts (three versions for each craft). It also includes 9 French greetings with an inclusive option for those students who don’t celebrate certain holidays. I think these would look great as a bulletin board / or hallway display! Students are always sooo proud when their writing is displayed for others to see. Even if they struggle to write, I always remind them.. you’re still writing *something* in a second language and that’s more than what most people can do 👏🏼. I’ve been working away on completing my Grade 1 I’ve been working away on completing my Grade 1 French math bundle. Here’s a sneak peak at the French measurement unit which has been recently added to my TpT store 🙌🏼. Creating math resources for primary students that are engaging, hit the curriculum, and in a second language can sometimes be a tedious process.. but, I’m happy with how this one turned out! I was in need of updated French math resources for my own classroom, so I’m happy I got this one done. And, wow has Ontario ever lowered the Grade 1 math curriculum expectations for measurement!
